中英教育合作计划:促进英国、中国、东盟和非洲国家的教育合作

The recipients of the UK-China-BRI Countries Education Partnership Initiative were announced on Tuesday 28 May 2019 at a ceremony in Beijing hosted by the British Council and the Ministry of Education China.

Six UK universities have been awarded funding and will jointly be working with 22 universities from 11 countries on the areas of healthcare, policing education, food safety, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and global leadership transformation.

The initiative provides seed funding for UK universities to develop multi-country education collaboration with institutions from China, ASEAN and African countries. The aim of the partnership is to support UK institution’s internationalisation strategies whilst also supporting China’s ambition to further educational links with countries along its Belt and Road Initiative.

The funding will be jointly provided by the British Council and the Ministry of Education. This partnership is particularly exciting as it is the first ever multilateral collaboration between the British Council and China’s Ministry of Education and is in fact the first time that the Ministry of Education has collaborated with a European country on a multilateral collaboration with the BRI.

Carma Elliot, Director British Council, China said

“Solving global challenges requires the brightest minds from across the world coming together, showing how education is not confined to national borders. The projects announced today reinforce our commitment to enhancing the UK’s excellence in education and innovation at home and around the world.”
